Teen Patti - Indian Poker is a popular game on 9Game. Do you know that Teen Patti is a story of love, hate and betrayal and how the lives of three friends, Arya, Mohor and Mukul, get altered by these forces?

Actually,it rarely happens you come across a movie that is a culmination of all the archetypal filmi ingredients - Jai-Veeru type friendship, love triangle, a murder and several suspects, a tough-as-nails police inspector, one femme fatale, a girl singing in bars to support her sick mother and drunken father and, keeping pace with the latest fad, a psychological thriller-type ending. Teen Patti, a debut film of director-duo Rehena Parvin Jenny and Dipayan Mandal, provides all the above-mentioned masalas, but, unfortunately, forgets to provide the string to attach all these ingredients in a coherent story.

The film starts with the murder investigation of a businessman called Rupak Chakraborty. Young Crime Branch officer Siddhartha Roy ( Koushik Roy), in charge of the case, finds a diary in Rupak's house that tells a story of three friends - Arya (Indraneil), Mohor (Puja) and Mukul (Ritwick). In an ek-phool-do-mali-type situation, childhood friends Arya and Mukul fall for the same girl. The directors then very carefully construct a prolonged scene where Mukul teaches Arya how to propose Mohor and how they take part in a bike race to decide who'll get the girl. And by the time Arya bares his heart to Mohor and they get married, you are bored to tears. Then the plot meanders through varied and bizarre twists and turns and the end result can be compared to a dish of mixed vegetables without salt. Weak script and dialogues, some unnecessary characters and some disjointed editing make it more tedious.

Though the movie tells the story of love, hate, betrayal and the how the three friends' lives alter, the directors have failed to build the characters substantially. So you fail to empathize when Arya goes through heartbreak or Mukul loses the balance between right or wrong. As no one relates to them, Indraneil's acting doesn't leave any mark and Ritwick looks like he is trying too hard. Among the others, Puja is in her elements only when she is wearing a shiffon and lip-syncing to the songs and as Ushasie's character (business tycoon Gargi Sen) doesn't get any proper closure, it's instantly forgettable.

Dhoom:3 Jet Speed has been launched on 9Game.

Dhoom:3 Jet Speed, the sequel to Dhoom:3 The Game has made its debut on mobiles and tablets.

Launched Thursday, it will be available for Android, iOS, Windows Phone and Nokia Asha device users.

Dhoom:3 Jet Speed is published by 99Games under a multi-year, multi-title license from Yash Raj Films Pvt Ltd.

"We are in the process of building a sustainable Licensing Programme of theDhoom franchise and gaming is a very important and thrilling segment for us," Rohit Sobti, vice president of Yash Raj Films Licensing, said in a statement.

After a thrilling high speed bike race through the streets of Chicago in Dhoom:3 The Game, that saw over 12 plus million downloads worldwide, the chase continues on the Chicago river in Dhoom:3 Jet Speed, the second game in the series for fans of the Dhoom franchise.

The game has players donning the role of the Dhoom:3 movie protagonist Sahir -- played by superstar Aamir Khan, as he rides a supercharged Aqua Jet through the congested Chicago river.

There are obstacles to avoid and the police are at their very best with ACP Jai Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and Ali (Uday Chopra) leading them in the chase.

The player can use a variety of power-ups to help evade and get the best score, but they must watch out for the health of the Aqua Jet. The game features realistic water animation and graphics for a great gaming experience.

"This is the first time in the history of Bollywood games a sequel is being attempted. We have built an awesome game around this popular movie franchise. You assume command of the Crane clan after your father dies at hands of the Takeda. As such, you will stop at nothing to put down this betrayal and return peace to the valley

Although you may erase that dojo, blacksmith, or monastery when it waits in your building queue.But once they have been set on the field,you cannot demolish structures.  Careful thought needs to be taken when laying out a future fortress for fear of impeding units' movements or blocking the sites of later lodgings. The fact that every building occupies a different area of tiles puts more pressure on you as general when the enemies start besieging headquarters.

Sometimes players defend their position, yet the rival factions’ spamming of archers demeans the experience with an element of luck. You may finally perfect your camp’s setup only for the opponent’s longbows to burn your wooden settlements to the ground. You must do the attacking, too. Still, the computer logically hides ranged units behind contingents of samurai or spearmen, and at five tiles or more, bows and matchlocks engage and eliminate advancing melee fighters in single volleys. Similar strategies can also work on the CPU,at times, limitless funds while you never seem to accrue resources fast enough, though the enemy possesses.

If Creative Assembly created a dedicated run button to hasten your swordsmen's march, perhaps the CPU’s luck would waver. Units crawl forward under piercing arrow volleys, but several seconds pass before reinforcements react to urgent orders. The slower combat works in favor of the iPad, giving players ample time to scroll back and forth on the battlefield and train new recruits to lead the assault. On PCs, this leaves a lot of downtime version as you wait for the clans to clash swords.

Ever since Imangi Studios launched the endless running game Temple Run for Android, it made sure that we never stopped running. The game has seen 4 versions since the original release in August 2011, with the sequel, Temple Run 2 launching earlier this year in January. The game has not just been appreciated, but went on to break the record of Angry Birds Space clocking in 50 million downloads in just 13 days.Find more news on 9Game.

Of these 4 versions, two are spin-offs released in association  with Disney. While one was Temple Run: Brave, based on the animated Disney/Pixar movie Brave, the more recently launched Temple Run: Oz is inspired form the upcoming Disney movie Oz: The Great and Powerful. We started running in the new environments to find out if it continues to keep us just as addicted as the original game.

Temple Run: Oz stays true to the game's tradition of non-stop running as well as turning, jumping and sliding to avoid hurdles and collecting coins. But since this version is based on Disney's movie, it incorporates a lot of elements such as new environments, objects and characters. You run as The Great and Powerful Oz down the mesmerising Yellow Brick Road in the Whimsical Woods and The Dark Forest. 

Now instead of the three demon monkeys or one big giant weird-faced monkey, you're being chased by three flying baboons at the start of the game and every once in a while when you stumble while running. 

The game is definitely more challenging than the original one but similar to Temple Run: Brave and the recently launched Temple Run 2 in some ways. It seems to have gotten faster as well, demanding greater focus and better reflexes. The obstacles in the game are quite tricky and catch you by surprise. They appear only when you approach them really close, unlike the earlier games where you could see them well in advance.

Plants in the game often leap from locations on the side of the path, attempting to grab you as they fall. Trees also often fall, seemingly out of nowhere, into the path to block your way. But the obstacles are just one part. The path itself will sometimes crumble while you're on high bridges or cliffs, forcing you to make a split-second decision to move to the side of the bridge that remains intact.

The musical backdrop of the beating drums has been replaced by the movie's background score that adds a lot of intensity and keeps the adrenaline rush going. As always, the graphics are really smooth and you'll be in awe of the surroundings and the attention to detail.

Temple Run: Oz also has certain common elements as seen in the Brave version of the game. You could collect bows in the game to unlock different bonuses like extra score points and score multipliers at the end of each running session. Here the bow has been replaced by a musical key to unlock the music box for similar bonuses. Further, you can choose to open all the boxes in case you're feeling too greedy, by paying additional coins.

A new element in the game as is the essence of the original Wizard of Oz movie is time travel with the tornado in a manner of speaking. While running you come across sign posts guiding you which direction to take and soon enough you'll see yourself transitioning between worlds with the yellow brick road collapsing before you and taking you to a different location.

The Whimsical Woods are set in bright environs but dangerous all the while with cliffs and forests. The Dark Forest is set in a graveyard amidst ruins of stones and gives a sense of evil lurking around. After each running session, if you happen complete that particular level's challenges, you level up and are awarded with gems or coins.

Another pretty neat movie-inspired element is the hot-air ballon which appears at several points in the game for an additional opportunity to collect coins as you sail through the clouds and make your way across the crystals reminiscent of Emerald City. 

The balloons appear on the screen, and head quickly in one direction at a crossroads. Follow the balloon and hop on to take a balloon trip through the clouds. In case you don't feel like it, you can always choose to head out in the other direction.

The game also offers additional power ups every now and then which include a magnet, a flying monkey and a soap bubble amongst others. Gems can also be used to "supercharge" power-ups. For instance, the 2X coin power-up becomes a 3X coin boost at the cost of 1 gem.

You can opt for Weekly or Legendary Challenges from the Menu section that also award coins, gems and multiplier bonuses. These include challenges like Marathon Man (run a certain distance), Big Time (Get 125,000 points in 1 run), Steady Bankroll (Collect 25,000 coins) and many others.

Overall, the game offers a fresh perspective in terms of being movie-inspired. Apart from that the basic mechanics of jumping, sliding and tilting remains the same. Currently, the app is only listed on the App Store and like other Temple Run games, we'd hope to see it launch for Android as well. (Update: The game has now been released for Android as well priced at Rs. 53.18 in the Google Play Store).  

Even though the app isn't free, Rs. 55 ($0.99) seems pretty decent to try out something new. Those who still wouldn't mind skipping this version, can check out Temple Run 2 that's also new release and is available for free.
