TextTwist 2 LITE:History of TextTwist

TextTwist 2 LITE:History of TextTwist

9Game provided:Have you played the popular game called TextTwist 2? Here comes the history of the game:

TextTwist

One of the earliest word games I remember playing on a personal computer was TextTwist. I became so obsessed with it that I would stay up late at night to finish “just one level more” but of course I’d end up completing more levels. These days, this classic word game can also be played on the Internet. Playing Text Twist online is as good as playing it on a mobile device and now there’s even Text Twist 2, doubling the fun!

History of TextTwist

Not many are aware that this classic game was based on another word game called Jumble. Jumble came into prominence in 1954, but it still appears in various newspapers today. Jumble puzzles are usually composed of 4 base puzzles, an illustration that serves a clue, and a set of jumbled words that need to be rearranged to form an anagram. When the base puzzles are solved, some of the letters are contained within circles. You need to get these encircled letters and arrange them to form a phrase or a sentence that is related to the illustration provided along with its caption.
TextTwist is a Java game developed by GameHouse and has similar gameplay as Jumble minus the illustration and the need to figure out a phrase or sentence. The original version had limited features as it was also a freeware edition. In December 12, 2001, Super TextTwist was released in the US. It had a wider vocabulary than the original version and personal high scores could be saved in the players’ own boards. In addition, it became available for purchase-downloading. The latest version of the game is Text Twist 2.

Game Review of Frontline Commando 2

Game Review of Frontline Commando 2

Welcome to review of the popular game among players called Frontline Commando 2.Let's read it together:

I’m new to the series, so I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect when I started up Frontline Commando 2 for the first time. In some ways it’s about what I expected: burly dudes that almost could have come from that one really popular game about throwing bullets at one another. But it’s also a well-constructed shooter that isn’t ridiculously heavy-handed with the in-app purchases. I’d even call it “a lot of fun.”

The story is something about missions. Bad guys doing bad guy things has and will always be a great excuse. Each mission takes place in a fairly enclosed area with a few cover points and quite a few enemy soldiers to shoot at. There’s no open movement, however - players can tap arrows on either side of the screen to move to a new piece of cover in that direction (best used for avoiding explosives or getting a better angle for a shot), but that’s the extent of the movement. Instead, they’ll be using the on-screen virtual buttons to focus on aiming, shooting, and reloading. And not getting shot, obviously.

Where‘s My Water? 2 Review

Where‘s My Water? 2 Review

Where's My Water? 2,on 9Game, brings Swampy, Allie and Cranky back for more dirt digging and ducky finding, adding an ocean of challenges, items and additions to this free to play sequel. After half a dozen sequels and spin-offs, we still don't know where all that water has gone. We do know how to move it around, though, which is what Disney Mobile's brand newphysics puzzle game is all about!

The gameplay in Where's My Water? 2 is the same as the games that came before it. Each level presents you with Swampy's bathtub at the bottom of the screen, with water pockets trapped above. Between you and Swampy's shower are solid rocks, movable blocks, levers, switches, spouts and most importantly, removable dirt. Simply trace your finger along the screen to create a path for the water to travel. Get it all to Swampy to complete the stage, conserving every drop you can along the way!

Gameplay is structured a little differently in Where's My Water? 2. You now have a map of sorts to travel through, unlocking stages by collecting a certain number of duckies in each level. You also gain access to special challenge stages that do crazy things like turn the world upside-down or force you not to collect ducks. These add a nice change of pace to the series formula, though they do end up feeling like they were thrown in there just to justify the duck-based level locking system.

Analysis: While the gameplay of Where's My Water? 2 remains mostly unchanged, the sequel goes down the dark path of freemium monetization in several unfavorable ways. For starters, there's energy to worry about. Just like those cash-in Facebook games, you're limited to the number of things you can do by an energy bar that depletes each time you play a level. You gain more over time, but it's always there threatening to end your fun just when you're starting to get into it. An expensive in-app purchase permanently increases the bar's size, but once you see the price you'll run away in terror.

It's a bit of a disappointment to see an imaginative and successful series like this go down the path of "everybody's doin' it so we are too". The design went from a pleasant level of creativity to a rubber stamp copy of every other mobile game out there, adopting many of the features that suck the life out of otherwise fantastic games. The items it added are fun but completely unnecessary, shoved in there as an excuse to monetize the product. It's a similar situation as the Plants vs. Zombies sequel selling out, though Where's My Water? 2 doesn't commit the crime quite as harshly.

If you don't mind dealing with an aggressively monetized (and Facebook integrated) game, Where's My Water? 2 still provides a lot of entertainment. It's a free download and gives you quite a lot of things to do without spending any money. Plenty of unique challenges, lots of things to collect, and more alligators than your average swamp party. That's a good thing, by the way.

Ski Safari: Adventure Time Review

Ski Safari: Adventure Time Review

Mathematical! Defiant Development has taken their mobile endless skier game Ski Safari and given it the full Adventure Time treatment this week! But while Ski Safari: Adventure Time, this  ADV game feels right at home in the wide range of quirky canon that accompanies the cult-favorite Cartoon Network TV show, does it also have that addictive blend of endless gameplay to match, and to give it that much needed lasting appeal? Or does it simply find itself caught in a candy-encrusted avalanche that stops any fun to be had in its tracks?

In the game, players take control of Adventure Time series hero Finn, as the boy gets abruptly woken up from a slumber and is immediately sent on a careening ski adventure down some never-ending natural hills throughout the Land of Ooo. Simply tapping on the screen causes Finn to leap through the air, while holding down on the screen will execute some awesome in-air flips for a seriously algebraic score bonus. You’ll also have the help from numerous other Adventure Time characters along the way, like Jake, Marceline, and Princess Bubblegum, who can all be utilized in different ways by Finn to keep him skiing (and sometimes even flying) in the utmost of style.

Ski Safari: Adventure Time

The biggest strength of Ski Safari: Adventure Time is in Defiant Development’s extremely close representation of the original source material, right down to the bouncing soundtrack and Finn’s accompanying shriek of “Ski Safari!” at the start of the app. Everything from the colorful illustrations to the actual animations look like something straight out of an episode of the quirky TV show, and Adventure Time fans will definitely find a lot to love here, although sometimes the screen can move so fast that trying to key-in on a few of the finer visual details results in an unwanted dizzying effect. You’ll start the game out by skiing through the cottony pink Candy Kingdom, but the Ice Kingdom and Mystery Mountains can also be purchased by racking up those coins on your skis.

Unfortunately, the overt kiddie nature of Ski Safari: Adventure Time also winds up being responsible for the endless runner’s biggest downfall: the game is just too easy. And when I say “too easy,” I mean effortlessly easy, almost to the point where all of the upgrades that you’re working towards unlocking don’t even matter, because there are so very few ways to be hit with that Game Over screen. For instance, the very first time I started up the game, I reached an obscene distance of over 30,000m, and I actually had to make a conscious effort to make myself lose so I could move on to other aspects outside of the main action.

Ski Safari: Adventure Time

It seems that there’s really only two ways you can actually lose in Ski Safari: Adventure Time, and that’s if you run into a rock or horribly botch a backflip and end up landing on your head. But in both cases, you’ll still have ample time to tap on the screen and right yourself up before the slow moving avalanche comes up from behind and overtakes you. Literally everything else you can collide with on your runs will end up helping you in one way or another, as Finn will effortlessly straddle every creature that comes along to use for some fanciful new way of skiing. One time I tried to collide with an evil-looking wolf that had hopped in my path just for the sake of ending my run, only to have Finn leap on the wolf’s back and keep on skiing like nothing had even happened.

As mentioned before, the almost nonexistent difficulty of the game renders a lot of the supplementary items and upgrades you can earn fairly pointless from an actual gameplay perspective. There are tons of things you can buy in the game store to accent your skiing experience, from offbeat new costumes for Finn to wear and special thrones you can ski on, to the typical power-up boosters like coin magnets and score multipliers, to upgrades for your secondary ski-assist characters, like faster flipping for the Banana Guard or greater “beard flaps” for the Ice King.

Ski Safari: Adventure Time

You’ll still want to be buying as many of these upgrades as you can, though, since almost all of the in-store prices are extremely lofty for how many coins you’ll earn on even your most monstrous of runs; but the whole thing just seems rather redundant after a while. The only hints of actual progression come in the form of missions, which task you with doing things like jumping over 3 cabins with a Jelly Bean, or landing 5 backflips inside of caves for an added rank boost. You’ll get to work towards completing three of these missions at a single time, and while they do give you something else to do besides just landing flip after flip, their overall presence is still largely unfelt.

So in the end, if you’re a big fan of the popular Cartoon Network TV show and just can’t get enough Adventure Time to fill up your day, then you’re sure to find something to love in Ski Safari: Adventure Time, as the game is incredibly faithful to the spirit and presentation of the source material. But if it’s actual gameplay that you’re in the market for, then it’s probably best to ski on down some other slope entirely: as the sheer lack of challenge or difficulty in the game makes this one literal endless runner that you’ll do everything in your power to actually make end.

Teen Patti - Indian Poker:The Same Name Movie Review

Teen Patti -  Indian Poker:The Same Name Movie Review

Teen Patti - Indian Poker is a popular game on 9Game. Do you know that Teen Patti is a story of love, hate and betrayal and how the lives of three friends, Arya, Mohor and Mukul, get altered by these forces?

Actually,it rarely happens you come across a movie that is a culmination of all the archetypal filmi ingredients - Jai-Veeru type friendship, love triangle, a murder and several suspects, a tough-as-nails police inspector, one femme fatale, a girl singing in bars to support her sick mother and drunken father and, keeping pace with the latest fad, a psychological thriller-type ending. Teen Patti, a debut film of director-duo Rehena Parvin Jenny and Dipayan Mandal, provides all the above-mentioned masalas, but, unfortunately, forgets to provide the string to attach all these ingredients in a coherent story.

The film starts with the murder investigation of a businessman called Rupak Chakraborty. Young Crime Branch officer Siddhartha Roy ( Koushik Roy), in charge of the case, finds a diary in Rupak's house that tells a story of three friends - Arya (Indraneil), Mohor (Puja) and Mukul (Ritwick). In an ek-phool-do-mali-type situation, childhood friends Arya and Mukul fall for the same girl. The directors then very carefully construct a prolonged scene where Mukul teaches Arya how to propose Mohor and how they take part in a bike race to decide who'll get the girl. And by the time Arya bares his heart to Mohor and they get married, you are bored to tears. Then the plot meanders through varied and bizarre twists and turns and the end result can be compared to a dish of mixed vegetables without salt. Weak script and dialogues, some unnecessary characters and some disjointed editing make it more tedious.

Teen Patti Also Read: I react to my wife doing intimate scenes: Indraneil

Though the movie tells the story of love, hate, betrayal and the how the three friends' lives alter, the directors have failed to build the characters substantially. So you fail to empathize when Arya goes through heartbreak or Mukul loses the balance between right or wrong. As no one relates to them, Indraneil's acting doesn't leave any mark and Ritwick looks like he is trying too hard. Among the others, Puja is in her elements only when she is wearing a shiffon and lip-syncing to the songs and as Ushasie's character (business tycoon Gargi Sen) doesn't get any proper closure, it's instantly forgettable.

Total War Battles Review

Total War Battles Review

If you like battle games , you can not miss the game Total War Battles which is a very exciting game and now you can download it on 9Game.

The Total War series contains a dedicated following that political intrigue, cherishes historical time periods, and the unit micromanagement. You will see a lot more to brag about too, which is  aggressive AI, miniscule armor details, literal 2,000-men armies, four-versus-four multiplayer, or the urgency of map control. Total War Battles scaled down the core releases' depth to coincide with Android and their touch controls, but this watercolor rendering of feudal Japan still showed impressive strategic promise.

The heart of the game consists of 23 story missions built around protecting encampments, assassinating rival daimyos, gathering war materials, and destroying enemy defenses. The reason is, strife exists as heavily in this side-scrolling RTS as it did during Japan’s Sengoku period.. Tensions escalate as your clan’s power grows, meanwhile, painting bulls-eyes on its members' heads and setting the course for your claim to the title of shogun. You assume command of the Crane clan after your father dies at hands of the Takeda. As such, you will stop at nothing to put down this betrayal and return peace to the valley
Landmarks also grant bonus incomes: Lumber yards harvest more wood when founded near forests, and blacksmiths smelt spare ore from adjacent mountains of stone.Players will oversee the mutiny firsthand. While you would normally assemble buildings on the world map to finance military production and keep the populace content, Total War Battles features the series’ first instance of construction on the actual battlefield. To gain resources, players link each structure’s hexagonal tiles together, while certain dwellings cannot be placed next to another. For example, trading posts cannot be connected to shrines because the noise interrupts the monks’ meditation ,which adds tactical consideration to the lane-based skirmishes as you arrange settlements around trees, boulders, ponds, and other natural formations.

The system of Total War Battles needs one major tweak: selling deployed structures. Although you may erase that dojo, blacksmith, or monastery when it waits in your building queue. But once they have been set on the field, you cannot demolish structures.  Careful thought needs to be taken when laying out a future fortress for fear of impeding units' movements or blocking the sites of later lodgings. The fact that every building occupies a different area of tiles puts more pressure on you as general when the enemies start besieging headquarters.

Sometimes players defend their position, yet the rival factions’ spamming of archers demeans the experience with an element of luck. You may finally perfect your camp’s setup only for the opponent’s longbows to burn your wooden settlements to the ground. You must do the attacking, too. Still, the computer logically hides ranged units behind contingents of samurai or spearmen, and at five tiles or more, bows and matchlocks engage and eliminate advancing melee fighters in single volleys. Similar strategies can also work on the CPU,at times, limitless funds while you never seem to accrue resources fast enough, though the enemy possesses.

If Creative Assembly created a dedicated run button to hasten your swordsmen's march, perhaps the CPU’s luck would waver. Units crawl forward under piercing arrow volleys, but several seconds pass before reinforcements react to urgent orders. The slower combat works in favor of the iPad, giving players ample time to scroll back and forth on the battlefield and train new recruits to lead the assault. On PCs, this leaves a lot of downtime version as you wait for the clans to clash swords.

Temple Run: Oz App Review

Temple Run: Oz App Review

Ever since Imangi Studios launched the endless running game Temple Run for Android, it made sure that we never stopped running. The game has seen 4 versions since the original release in August 2011, with the sequel, Temple Run 2 launching earlier this year in January. The game has not just been appreciated, but went on to break the record of Angry Birds Space clocking in 50 million downloads in just 13 days.Find more news on 9Game.

Of these 4 versions, two are spin-offs released in association  with Disney. While one was Temple Run: Brave, based on the animated Disney/Pixar movie Brave, the more recently launched Temple Run: Oz is inspired form the upcoming Disney movie Oz: The Great and Powerful. We started running in the new environments to find out if it continues to keep us just as addicted as the original game.

Temple Run: Oz stays true to the game's tradition of non-stop running as well as turning, jumping and sliding to avoid hurdles and collecting coins. But since this version is based on Disney's movie, it incorporates a lot of elements such as new environments, objects and characters. You run as The Great and Powerful Oz down the mesmerising Yellow Brick Road in the Whimsical Woods and The Dark Forest.

Now instead of the three demon monkeys or one big giant weird-faced monkey, you're being chased by three flying baboons at the start of the game and every once in a while when you stumble while running.

The game is definitely more challenging than the original one but similar to Temple Run: Brave and the recently launched Temple Run 2 in some ways. It seems to have gotten faster as well, demanding greater focus and better reflexes. The obstacles in the game are quite tricky and catch you by surprise. They appear only when you approach them really close, unlike the earlier games where you could see them well in advance.

Plants in the game often leap from locations on the side of the path, attempting to grab you as they fall. Trees also often fall, seemingly out of nowhere, into the path to block your way. But the obstacles are just one part. The path itself will sometimes crumble while you're on high bridges or cliffs, forcing you to make a split-second decision to move to the side of the bridge that remains intact.

The musical backdrop of the beating drums has been replaced by the movie's background score that adds a lot of intensity and keeps the adrenaline rush going. As always, the graphics are really smooth and you'll be in awe of the surroundings and the attention to detail.

Temple Run: Oz also has certain common elements as seen in the Brave version of the game. You could collect bows in the game to unlock different bonuses like extra score points and score multipliers at the end of each running session. Here the bow has been replaced by a musical key to unlock the music box for similar bonuses. Further, you can choose to open all the boxes in case you're feeling too greedy, by paying additional coins.

A new element in the game as is the essence of the original Wizard of Oz movie is time travel with the tornado in a manner of speaking. While running you come across sign posts guiding you which direction to take and soon enough you'll see yourself transitioning between worlds with the yellow brick road collapsing before you and taking you to a different location.
The Whimsical Woods are set in bright environs but dangerous all the while with cliffs and forests. The Dark Forest is set in a graveyard amidst ruins of stones and gives a sense of evil lurking around. After each running session, if you happen complete that particular level's challenges, you level up and are awarded with gems or coins.

Another pretty neat movie-inspired element is the hot-air ballon which appears at several points in the game for an additional opportunity to collect coins as you sail through the clouds and make your way across the crystals reminiscent of Emerald City.

The balloons appear on the screen, and head quickly in one direction at a crossroads. Follow the balloon and hop on to take a balloon trip through the clouds. In case you don't feel like it, you can always choose to head out in the other direction.

The game also offers additional power ups every now and then which include a magnet, a flying monkey and a soap bubble amongst others. Gems can also be used to "supercharge" power-ups. For instance, the 2X coin power-up becomes a 3X coin boost at the cost of 1 gem.
You can opt for Weekly or Legendary Challenges from the Menu section that also award coins, gems and multiplier bonuses. These include challenges like Marathon Man (run a certain distance), Big Time (Get 125,000 points in 1 run), Steady Bankroll (Collect 25,000 coins) and many others.

Overall, the game offers a fresh perspective in terms of being movie-inspired. Apart from that the basic mechanics of jumping, sliding and tilting remains the same. Currently, the app is only listed on the App Store and like other Temple Run games, we'd hope to see it launch for Android as well. (Update: The game has now been released for Android as well priced at Rs. 53.18 in the Google Play Store).

Even though the app isn't free, Rs. 55 ($0.99) seems pretty decent to try out something new. Those who still wouldn't mind skipping this version, can check out Temple Run 2 that's also new release and is available for free.

The sequel to the popular Dhoom:3 Jet Speed

The sequel to the popular Dhoom:3 Jet Speed

The Game became quite popular, and crossed the 1 million downloads mark on the 9Game in quick time becoming the first app/game from India to do so. The game saw over 12 million downloads worldwide across platforms. 99games, the publisher of the game, and Yash Raj Films, the producer of the movie, have got together again to bring a sequel to the blockbuster game – Dhoom:3 Jet Speed.

Dhoom:3 The Game was launched last year around the time of Dhoom:3 release, the third movie in the popular Bollywood franchise. The endless runner game involved a thrilling high speed bike race through the streets of Chicago where the movie was set.

Borrowing a scene from the movie, where the anti-hero is chased by two cops in a Chicago river on Aqua jets, the second game in the series is an endless runner as well as a racing game. Of course, you need to watch out for traffic and obstacles that litter the river and use Power-Ups to gain an edge over your pursuers. Like the previous game, the graphics are pretty good and the simulated water and race visuals are immersive.

The game features three fast paced racing modes - Endless Mode to aim for the highest score, Challenge Mode to beat a friend, and an Escape Mode to race against the clock. It offers the option to choose between tilt or tap controls, and also configure the accelerometer sensitivity, so you can ride and control the aqua jet nicely.

You can upgrade your Aqua Jets to make them more durable and survive collisions better. Also, as you race through the game, you can see yourself rising up the leaderboards.

Download the Dhoom:3 Jet Speed game for free for Android devices from the 9Game. The game launch is timed along with the television premier of the movie, and you can find Sony Television branding within the game. It's a fine game and with great graphics and exciting gameplay, and there's no reason you shouldn't give it a whirl. Jet, set, go… Dhoom machale!
