RAGER

This special Zombie will dash and charge towards you, so you better be ready to dodge him. The best way to deal with RAGER is to wait until he hits a wall and then shoot him in the back.

VOMITRON

This is a special Zombie, who is lot tougher than regular Zombies and spits acidic vomit. The best way to deal with this abomination is to hide behind obstacles and to light him up with bullets at the right moments

PANZER

A very well-fortified special Zombie who will steam roll over you if he gets the chance. He has a weak spot on his back, so try to hit him there.

Dead Trigger 2 Fires Its Way to Best App Ever 2014 Victory

Dead Trigger 2 Fires Its Way to Best App

Ever 2014 Victory

Dead Trigger 2, the hyper realistic zombie FPS title from Madfinger Games, has obliterated the competition in this year's Best App Ever Awards on Android.

Taking the top spot as the Best App Ever for 2014, the Most Innovative App and the Most Innovative Game, it has proven that the appetite for zombie games on Android is roughly equivalent to the appetite the zombies have for brains in the action packed shooter.

Every play they're shuffling

Candy Crushing Saga

Of course, it was far from the only winner in the awards organised by our lovely sister site 148 Apps. Candy Crush Saga clashed with Supercell to win the Best Casual Game award, while Fifa 2014 took advantage of World Cup fever to emerge as the top sports title.

Meanwhile, Toonslab's gangster themed multiplayer action game Graalonline Era romped to victory in the Best Arcade and Action category. There was also good news for Doctor Who: Legacy from Tiny Rebel Games, who proved that the Doctor really is the cleverest man in the universe by winning the Best Brain and Puzzle game award.

And one final vignette about the seemingly never ending popularity of the living dead, Zombies, Run! by Six to Start ran away with the prize for the Best Health and Fitness app on Android.

The winners parade

If you thought that was where the fun ends though, then you'd be totally and utterly wrong. Even with all those lovely winners announced so far, there are still over a dozen other award winners left to check out in categories as diverse as Best Business App and Most Useful App (those two categories being mutually exclusive of course).

So why not head on over to the Best App Ever Awards home page to check out who else has won the prize and join us in toasting the best of the best in the Android ecosystem. Huzzah!

A special thanks to iDreamSky, the largest mobile game publishing platform in China, for sponsoring the Best App Ever Awards
